Phoebe Gildea is an active performer and music educator based in Portland, Oregon. Called “radiant on stage” (Oregon ArtsWatch) as the titular fairy in Iolanthe, and then praised for giving an “intense, gritty performance” (BroadwayWorld) in the punk rock musical LIZZIE, she enjoys a notably versatile career in music and theater. Other favorite credits have included Emma (Jekyll & Hyde), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Amalia (She Loves Me), and Alto Soloist in Bach’s Magnificat and Handel’s Messiah.

News
LIZZIE: THE MUSICAL reviewed by BroadwayWorld
"Like a good grunge rock show, LIZZIE is not meant to be a big overproduced spectacle. All it needs is a tight band and four kickass women who can channel their inner rock goddesses. Kristin Van Sickle, Sarah Rose, Ashley Moore, and Phoebe Gildea are all fantastic, delivering intense, gritty performances.
As a long-time fan of this show, I can confidently say this production nails it."
Iolanthe reviewed by Oregon ArtsWatch
"Phoebe Gildea as Iolanthe has a rich, beautiful voice and was radiant on stage. Her singing role in Act I is minimal, but as the conclusion nears she gets to deliver the opera’s most beautiful aria. Gildea’s performance was touching and convincing."
